Called Derek Or Dave? You Could Be With A Greater Chance Of Scooping The Lottery Jackpot

A survey of jackpot winners dating back to 1995 also found big winners are likely to be aged 44 and tradesmen

MEN called Derek or Dave living in the North have most chance of scooping the Lottery, says a survey.

Big winners are also most likely to be aged 44 and working in a trade, such as bricklaying or carpentry.

Of 100 millionaire winners since 1995, Dereks and Daves each landed four jackpots — at least twice as many as other names except John, Alex and Karen who got three.

Yorkshire, Merseyside and Manchester were the luckiest regions.

Tradesmen won 14 times, and coach and bus drivers 13.

Next were office staff with 12, said lottery site Jackpot.com.

Boss Pablo Grunbaum said: “Like it or not, some people are just luckier — and it’s probably your mate Del or Dave.”
